Nigeria is not deficient in ideas or credible leadership, but the country has been overrun by mediocre, power hawkers and political bandits whose only stock in trade is to grab power for selfish ambitions. They grabbed power and run away with it, but cannot snatch governance to run away with it too.
The political cultists who hijacked power are stupendous wealthy not from any known businesses but proceeds of endemic corruption from the common patrimony. It’s been transmitted from one generation to another.
To sustain their grip on power, the state is captured through guerrilla political warefare, thereafter incompetent but loyal elements are recycled like pawns to manipulate the electoral space for conquer.
Even though bankrupt in knowledge, but are excellent scholars of Nicholi Merchavelli and Ivan Parvalor power theories. Their capacity to efficiently utilise instruments of coercion for control is the first syllabus of orientation.
Their understanding of power relations is circumscribed to blood or relationships within the degree of consanguinity. While the concept of development is limited to material acquisition and accumulation of wealth not needed, including capital flight to foreign homes where their families are domiciled.
They are magnanimous in weaponising misery and hunger epitomises the depth of wickedness and greed. The populations are mere victims of state capture surviving at the mercy of nature.
To perfect the complete annihilation of knowledge, these power brigands criminalised intellectualism by promoting morons’ traditions appointing incompetent low intelligence-quotient persons to strategic positions. In the circumstances, truth and justice are sworn enemies of the state.
The Nigerian political entity is a theater of the absurd, the more you see the less you understand. To appreciate the role of every actor, it’s imperative to locate proximity to the power base by reconciling disposition to the plight of the poor at the bottom of the social pyramid.
For now hopelessness and despair looms in the social space, as power mafia battle with ornaments for any magic to interventions. While hero worshipers, hypocrites and praise sinngers deploy every tactics to change the natives with blame game. As the leadership comedy continues, the country bleed from hunger, poverty and insecurity.
