In total obedience to the biblical injunction to mourn with those who mourn and rejoice with those who rejoice, and in the demonstration of profound human ability to share in the grief of others as an empathetic manifestation of togetherness in a socio cultural society was today, Friday 15th March, 2024, exhibited when the National President of Ngwang Ishi O’Tarok (NIO) Worldwide, Amb Nanpon Danjuma Sheni led a high power delegation of the Tarok nation on a condolence visit to the former governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Chibi Dariye in Jos over the demise of his parents
A celebrated diplomat with exceptional leadership strides, Amb Sheni beautifully demonstrated the essence of communalism and unity of purpose the Tarok nation is globally acknowledged for.
Relying on the words of the Chief Comforter, God Almighty through the Bible, the astute administrator quoted Isaiah 41:10 “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand”.
He admonished the former Senator to take solace in the fact that the mortal body must mix with the immortal as instructed in the book of 1 Corinthians 15: 50-55 before any soul will see Christ
He described death as a pathway to eternity though acknowledging that as humans, the death of a lost one is not easy to take, not to talk about the death of both the father and mother considering the circumstances of the gruesome murder of the father. Though, painful, Amb Sheni counselled the former governor to “give thanks to the Lord in every circumstances”.
Going down memory lane , the NIO President recounted the the cordial relations that have always existed between the Tarok and Mushere Nations, emphasizing that Tarok Nation mourns the unfortunate losses with the Mushere consoled and condoled Chief Dariye and his family on the death of his parents and prayed for the peaceful repose of their respective souls.
“On behalf of the Tarok nation, please accept our deepest condolences and sympathies. I sincerely lack words of comfort for a sad moment like this. Losing both parents at the same time can be so tragic and devastating, however, as the Bible says in
Psalms 23:4 – Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me, may the good Lord comfort you” said Amb Sheni
Responding on behalf of the family, the visibly excited Chief Sen Dariye said “this is a very difficult moment for us but your visit has made it easier with the comfort and support of people like you. We’re highly grateful to the Tarok nation for identifying with us in this moment of grief. May God bless you”.
As the former governor grapple with the profound grief of parental loss, the unforgettable image of the united Tarok nation, led by Amb Sheni re echoes his humanitarian ethos both as a diplomatic career and as the President of Tarok people.
