In order to arrest the spate of barbaric killings and wanton destruction of properties, the Plateau State Governor, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has approved the constitution of a Security Committee.
In a circular dated 30th January, 2024, signed by the Secretary of the Government of the State, Arc Samuel Nanchang Jatau, FNIA, Governor Mutfwang named the former number two man of the Nigerian Airforce, Air Vice Marshall Napoleon Binkap Bali (Rtd) as the Chairman. Bali is to lead nine other members of the committee which includes the Gbong Gwom Jos, who is the State Chairman of the Traditional Council, Gen Shippi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Security and other prominent security experts with the Secretary of the Government serving as the Secretary of the committee
According to the SGS, the former Commander of the Presidential Air Fleet, AVM Bali and his committee shall be advising and making recommendations to the government on how to ensure adequate security in the state.
