Rt Hon Abbas while welcoming his colleagues upon resumption from Christmas and New Year break lamented how innocent law-abiding citizens were butchered in their homeland without provocation. He called on Mr President to be decisive in taking any necessary measure that would ensure the primary responsibility of government of safeguarding lives and property is upheld
Speaking further, Rt Hon Abbas called on the security agencies to redouble their efforts and tame the ugly spate of banditry that’s fast making inroads into Abuja, the nation’s capital. He appreciated Mr President’s commitment to ensuring adequate security and pledged the House’s resolve to always support the executive
It will be recalled that Mangu and Bokkos people of Plateau State while preparing for Christmas celebration were murdered in their hundreds on the eve of Christmas. The killings have continued in Mangu where lives were lost.
