Distinguished Sen. Napoleon Binkap Bali, former Senator representing Plateau Southern Senatorial District and Chairman, Plateau State Peace Committee set up by His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, has extended his Calvary wishes to Christians on the occasion of Easter.
In his message, he emphasized that “Easter is a significant religious festival for Christians around the world, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is a time of reflection, renewal, and hope for believers, as Christians celebrate the triumph of life over death”
“Easter, a time of forgiveness and redemption, is the perfect opportunity for the people of Plateau State to come together and heal the wounds of the past because without reconciliation and unity, the state will continue to be torn apart by violence and hatred, leading to further suffering and destruction.
The retired Air Vice Marshall further stressed the need for peaceful coexistence on the Plateau among all residents of the Plateau, regardless of their religious beliefs.
“The state has been plagued by inter-communal conflicts and violence in recent years, leading to loss of lives and destruction of property. Such conflicts are often fuelled by religious, ethnic, and political differences, creating a climate of fear and mistrust among the residents”.
“It is imperative for all residents of the Plateau to embrace tolerance, understanding, and respect for one another, regardless of our differences. Only through peaceful coexistence can the state achieve lasting peace, stability, and progress”.
“Plateau is known for its rich cultural diversity blessed with unique weather conditions, with people from various ethnic and religious backgrounds living together in harmony for generations. It is this diversity that makes the state unique and vibrant, offering a wealth of opportunities for growth and development”.
“However, this diversity can also be a source of tension and conflict if not managed effectively. Therefore, all residents of our dear Plateau must uphold the values of unity, tolerance, and respect for one another. We must set aside our differences and work together towards a common goal of peace and prosperity for all”.
“By fostering a culture of inclusivity and understanding, the state can overcome the challenges of division and conflict, and build a more cohesive and resilient society thereby enabling Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang to continue to address the infrastructural and socioeconomic deficits the state has been grabbling with”.
Indeed, Christ has risen!
