The severe water scarcity that confronts the people of Langtang South Local Government in Plateau South Senatorial District is a predominant issue troubling Langtang South that has bedevilled the council since time immemorial. Considering the importance of water for daily living as it impacts every aspect of life, Sen. Napoleon Binkap Bali who instead of taking to the resting chair and watch the people battle with this persistent scarcity, decided to confront the issue head on, a style of leading typical of his military background.

Senator Napoleon Binkap Bali, despite leaving office, remained resolute in fighting infrastructural decay and advancing the cause of humanity, highlighting the strong determination of an individual committed to ignite a positive change in society.

According to www.pintblank.com.ng reporter, Samuel Habila who was on hand to witness the distribution of water, Senator Bali’s intervention involved the distribution of water in tanks to houses lacking access to potable drinking water in Dingshan, Mabudi, Takalafia and Talgwang. In doing so, the senator mitigated the effects of the water scarcity crisis thereby initiating, what we may consider, an avalanche effect.

A jubilant resident, Mr Ndam Timloh who spoke to www.pointblank.com.ng reporter confessed that “We are short of words because this is happening for the first time. Never in our history have we had this kind of gesture by someone who we’re even sympathizing with for the injustice meted out to him by the Court of Appeal”.

A university don from the benefitting communities who wouldn’t want his name mentioned said “Senator Napoleon Binkap Bali firm commitment against water scarcity in Langtang South, driving sustainable change despite having being unjustly evicted from the red chambers in a questionable judgment of the Court of Appeals only tells the sincerity of purpose with which he set out to serve humanity.

Addressing the excited communities earlier before the commencement of the distribution of the water, Hon Ponzip Sanda aka Zipper, the Liaison Officer to the Distinguished Senator, who stood in for his boss, was quoted as saying “He (Napoleon) championed the cause of water availability, making it a basic right rather than a privilege because water is life”.

“His unending enthusiasm, touchable efforts and calculated ingenuities deliberately geared towards better living condition for his constituents is an appreciation of the overwhelming support and votes he received in the 2023 general elections”. Hon Sanda said.

He concluded by saying “His actions should serve as a reminder for policymakers and public officials alike that their responsibilities towards their constituents do not end with their term, but continue as they remain a beacon of progress and development within their communities”
