The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has declared Prince Pam Mwadkon Dachungyang of the Action Democratic Party, ADP the winner of Plateau North rerun election. Declaring the results, Prof. Nestor Monday D. the Returning Officer for the election gives the details as follows:

In the same vein, INEC also declared Hon Daniel Asama of the Labour Party as the winner of the Jos North/Bassa Federal Constituency rerun election conducted on saturday, 3rd February, 2024. Prof James Garba, Returning Officer for the election declared the results as follows:

The election which was keenly contested witnessed serious voters apathy intrigues yet not devoid of political and religious intrigues. While Hon Daniel Asama benefitted from the political endorsement of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP whose logo was excluded on the ballot paper, the PRP candidate enjoyed the endorsement of a renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir. With Sheikh Jingir’s endorsement, the APC votes were consolidated to the PRP. This explains the reason for APC’s poor outing at the election
www.pointblank.com.ng reported on Saturday that the election was marred by serious voter apathy where a polling unit of over 150 voters had only 3 voters exercising their franchise. One of the intrigues was the deliberate attempt to disfranchise voters in some polling units. A polling unit of over 1000 for instance was given 1,000 ballot papers for Senate but only 100 ballot papers for House of Representatives. This irregularity was rejected by political parties and it forced INEC to suspend the electoral Officer of Jos North to allow for full investigation. Consequently, elections were rescheduled for yesterday, Sunday 4th February, 2024 in those affected polling units, mainly in Kabong, Tudun Wada and Naraguta B
The national assembly seats became vacant following the Court of Appeals judgement that sacked PDP’s Musa Agah and Simon Mwadkon from House of Representatives and Senate respectively
