Ahmed Idris Wase, 9th Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly and member representing Wase Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Federal Character, based on some criteria which are legislative productivity, committee work, constituent services, transparency and accountability amongst others.
Having meticulously divulged the representative performance of the Rt. Hon. Member who has recurrently represented his constituents for 5 consecutive terms, it was deduced by facts that the lawmaker was adjudged to be the most active during the 7th and 8th assembly, recording an overwhelming number of bills sponsored and signed into Law, notable amongst are the bill for the establishment of Federal Medical Center Wase, Orthopedic Hospital Jos, National Cancer Center Jos, and the construction of National Open University of Nigeria, which have been signed into law and actively in motion, amongst others.
As the Chairman, House committee on Federal character, the veteran parliamentarian focused on many crucial issues related to the federal government such as fixing the seemingly broken federal character commission, strengthening National development, promoting job creation, infrastructural development and holding public servants accountable through a bill he sponsored to wax miscellaneous offences. He also sponsored and co-sponsored several bills and motions on issues such as assisting the victims of floods, enhancing security, equity in recruitment, removal and replacement of heads of MDGs, among other fundamental issues.
