An International Freedom Fighter, Comrade T.N Timkat has frowned at the decision of the Court of Appeal to fine the Plateau State House of Assembly, PDP Sacked Legislators as double judicial banditry and reinforcement of injustice.

Comrade Timkat in a statement issued to newsmen on Tuesday and obtained by www.pointblank.com.ng however, faulted the members for approaching the same Court of Appeal operating under the same headship because he thinks, nothing will change from the “compromised Court”

Timkat said “In the first place,  the 16 members of Plateau State House Assembly who won their elections conveniently by majority votes and were unjustly sacked by Appeal Court under the leadership of Justice Dongban-Mensem Monica shouldn’t have approached the same court to reveiw its unfair judgment. This is because the same Appeal Court is still operating under the same judges and same arrangement”.

He added that “The unjustly sacked lawmakers in Plateau State should have  waited for review by National Judiciary Council  in order to avoid further malicious extortion and perpetrating favouritism and nepotism against their masses mandates”.

The former APC House of Assembly aspirant for Langtang North North constituency in the 2023 general elections said “Those who have sound knowledge of legal system would agree with the fact that judgment of the Supreme Court verdict has automatically become law in Nigeria. Why the 16 APC House of Assembly candidates who lost elections woefully are still claiming membership of the House of Assembly despite suprume Court judgement”?

“A careful analysis would tell you that Appeal Court under Justice Dongban-Mensem Monica has seen their nakedness in the market Square. To cover it, the court fines the sacked lawmakers N128 million just to tactically avoid being questioned for challenging Supreme Court judgment”

“Whatsoever game those judges are playing,  they are have already challenged the Supreme Court Decision that restored Governor Caleb Mutfwang as duly elected Governor of Plateau State” added the Youth Activist.

Comrade Timkat is worried that “It is quite surprisingly that  only in Nigeria that Supreme Court judgment is being challenged by lower court (Appeal Court)”.

He called on “Patriotic Nigerian Citizens to rise up against the impunity perpetrating in the judiciary system especially at the Appeal Court under Justice Dongban-Mensem Monica”.

He advised that “The 16 lawmakers sacked by Appeal Court should refrain from taking further action for any review at Appeal Court rather wait for National Judiciary Council Committee on review of 2023 General election judgments”.

He endorsed the current leadership style of the speaker. “Rt. Hon Dewan will continue to run the skeleton House of Assembly affairs with 7 lawmakers. Thus, giving the gap in making laws that would effect the entire Plateau State”.

He applauded Gov Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang for politically reinvigorating the sacked members by adding that “Interestingly, Governor Caleb Mutfwang has made strategic efforts for appointment of 16 sacked lawmakers as Liaison Officers of their respective constituencies.

“I strongly believed that the perpetrating of political deception will definitely end in no distance time. Politicians must learn to stand with the masses if they want the masses mandates”.
