Hon Prince Vincent Venman Bulus, Member representing Langtang North and South Federal Constituency in the Federal House of Representatives has in the strongest terms, condemned the unfortunate crisis that erupted in Ponglong Village between the Tehl People of Mikang and Tarok people of Langtang North. The Honourable member regretted why the people who have lived together as brothers and sister throughout their existence would suddenly turn foes, attacking each other heartlessly.

Hon Bulus called for calm while stressing that dialogue must be embraced as a veritable for peace building. In a statement by Hon VVB Media Team on Monday, 25th March, 2024, exclusively made available to www.pointblank.com.ng, the member who recounted the years of togetherness that saw both the Tarok and Tehl people engaging in communal efforts like farming together and exchange of marriage wondered why all these long cherished values were trashed to the history bins.

“Brothers turning enemies because of a parcel of land, is to say the least, regrettable. This conflict threatens the very roots of our brotherhood and we must come together to address it amicably as soon as possible”.

“I believe that there’s no problem between any two or more people or communities that dialogue cannot resolve, since even reconciliation terms after whatever kind of battle are normally agreed on sitting at a round table.

“Our communities must be ready to live together in peace since no development can take place in an atmosphere of recurring violence.

“This avoidable needless descent to lawlessness should be of concern to all of us, especially coming from communities that have lived peacefully with one another from time immemorial.

“As the representatives of our people, religious, traditional and political leaders must unite to resolve this crisis. The relationships built over time should be used as a vehicle for coming together to look at whatever problem it is, so as not to allow the situation to snowball into needless loss of lives and property.”

“We owe our people good governance predestined upon peace and unity. We must also be prompt in providing succour to those that were affected while using our offices to fast track relief materials as responsible and reliable representatives”

Hon. Vincent commended the Security agencies for timely intervention in quenching the emerging crisis, and for all the heroic efforts taken so far towards bringing peace to the areas. He urged all stakeholders to cooperate and ensure that lasting peace returns to the affected areas.

Hon Vincent Venman Bulus on behalf of himself, the good and peaceloving people of Langtang North and South Federal Constituency commiserated with the families that loss their loved ones while wishing those that sustained injuries quick recovery
