As the Super Eagles of Nigeria square up against the Elephants of Cote D’Ivoire today, Sunday, 11th February, 2024 in the final match of the 34th edition of Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) showpiece, the Chairman of Plateau State Football Association, PFA, Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande wishes the Superlative Super Eagles of Nigeria a successful outing against the host nation, Cote D’Ivoire.

Hon Dr Kwande in a statement today, 11th February, 2024,  personally signed by him applauds the team’s compactness, togetherness and patriotism that has seen them overcome every opponent on their way to the finals.

The Former NFF Board Member said “the current Super Eagles patriotism is exemplary and commendable”. He continued that “with the determination, team work and compactness shown so far, I am optimistic that the Eagles will soar higher above the elephants by doing a double against them despite playing them on their home soil”. The Super Eagles of Nigeria have earlier defeated their today’s opponent in the group stage

Eagles, No gree for Ivorians

Hon Dr Kwande thanked His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Executive Governor of Plateau State, who together with the Commissioner of Youth and Sports, Hon Lawandi Datti held a “morale boosting zoom meeting with the team which will go a long way in spurring the Eagles to victory”. He said Gov. Mutfwang has again demonstrated his passion for football as a unifying factor

Hon Dr Suleiman Yahaya Kwande reserved special prayers for members of the Eagles squad from the State. The Super Eagles members from Plateau State include Captain Ahmed Musa,  Awazem, Simon Moses and the Doctor of the team. Dr Kwande conveys the state’s elated feeling and pride to them saying, “they have done us proud, our sincerest wishes and honest prayers are with them”

The astute football administrator also commends the rare commitment and zeal of the Alh Ibrahim Musa Gusau led NFF that has overseen football rejuvenation in the country so far

After three weeks of intense football hostilities, pulsating exchanges and breathtaking actions that have showcased the best of African football artistry, the continental biannual showpiece climaxes today at 9pm with the Super Eagles seeking their 4th title
