The General Manager of Jos Metropolitan Development Board, JMDB, Arc Hart Bankat has expressed anger at the deliberate attempt by some mischief makers who are hell bent on frustrating the efforts of The Time Is Now Administration of His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang the Executive Governor of Plateau State to successfully implement the Executive Order 003 that became effective on the 19th March, 2024
In a public notice on Monday, 29 April 2024, the Pointblank News Blog winner of the Exceptional Personality of the Week advised that “it’s very important we enquire about government decisions before criticizing please. This is NOT politics but governance”.
He clarified that “Consultations were done from over 6 months to date before enforcement”.
The energetic Manager whose agency, alongside Plateau Environmental and Sanitation Agency, PEPSA are saddled with the responsibilities of implementing the provisions of the Executive Order 003 further added that “For the avoidance of doubt the Main Terminus Market has been opened for temporary operations pending proposed new developments”.
He advised that “For Traders in Farin Gada, they are to return inside the market as appropriate spaces are available for all of them. For those in Gada Biu the Satellite Market is empty and hence can operate from there”.
“For Traders on the road sides, they should take advantage of the available spaces and key into allocations of any market close to them.
Arc Bankat vowed that “We remain accountable to all Plateau people as promised by our principal and mentor H.E Gov. Caleb Mutfwang and would stop at NOTHING in making Plateau State a place of pride to us all and our children yet unborn.
“Join us in making Plateau beautiful and a destination to all irrespective of creed, ethnicity or religion” he concluded.
The Executive Order www.pointblank.com.ng gathers, strives to counter developmental challenges such as inadequate and decaying infrastructure, lack of public facilities, and insufficient housing. It mandates the enhancement of existing social and economic services while ensuring the speedy implementation of new projects aimed at elevating the city’s development trajectory.
The Executive Order 003 also seeks to arrest the daily reoccurrence of accident caused by trucks particularly around Polo Round About and other areas by restricting their movements in the city centre between 6am – 9pm. The Executive Order 003 sets out to stop the indiscriminate parking of vehicles along the metropolis roads, indiscriminate pollution of major streets with open markets such as what was obtainable at Terminus, enhance sanitation and reduce environmental degradation.
