Finally, after 6 months of being declared Members elect by the Court of Appeal and the consequent legal battles and uncertainty that followed thereafter, Rt Hon Gabriel K Dewan has successfully inaugurated 9 out of the 16 members of the State House of Assembly today, 5th April, 2024. This long-awaited event marks the end of a tumultuous period for the constituents and the elected officials, as they can now begin their legislative duties in earnest.
According to www.pointblank.com.ng, notification was sent last night to the members elect for the inauguration this morning. However, on only 9 out of the 16 were sworn in after the 9 members accepted to sign a peace treaty which forbids them from impeaching the Speaker amongst other conditions
