The Minister issued the stern warning through Mr Henshaw Ogubike, the Ministry’s Director of Information and Public Relations. In a statement made available to journalists on Friday in Abuja and sighted by www.pointblank.com.ng, Matawalle gave the warning following some unguarded utterances from some quarters of the country due to the security challenges in the country.

He warned that “such comments are incitive and destructive and can exacerbate tensions and lead to violence in our beloved nation”. The Minister consequently, demanded a clear demonstration of patriotism and nationalism from Nigeria

The statement expressed confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s capacity, determination and political will to handle the challenge of insecurity and reassured that the president is working assiduously to ensure that Nigeria becomes a safe, better and more secure country for everyone to live in.

Explaining government’s concerted efforts in tackling the security challenges so far, he said that the president idolizes safety of citizens, being government’s primary responsibility as enshrined in the constitution by equipping the Nigerian military to function optimally, while the service chiefs have also been charged with rebuilding the capacity of the security services.
