Economic Hardship: Governor Uba Sani Of Kaduna State Launches Second Phase Of Palliative Distribution Worth Accumulatively 11.4billion

The Governor of Kaduna state, Malam Uba Sani, has spearheaded the commencement of the second phase of palliative distribution to uplift the impoverished, vulnerable, and underserved populace of Kaduna State.

Symbolically presenting the aids, the Governor expressed delight at the opportunity to provide relief to those in need.

A staggering 128 trucks laden with rice and maize, valued at N3.4 billion, are being disbursed to benefit the disadvantaged, aiming to reach approximately 1 million individuals across 200,000 households.

Gov Uba Sani Launching The Palliatives

These provisions are set to alleviate the hardships faced by countless citizens across the state.

In addition to food aid, the state government has swiftly initiated various intervention programs, allocating N4.2 billion towards disbursing cash, grants, fertilizers, and farm inputs to vulnerable households, smallholder farmers, MSMEs, persons with disabilities, and other marginalized groups.

Notably, over 9,800 households and 1,000 persons with disabilities have already begun receiving assistance.

Moreover, Governor Uba Sani disclosed the release of grants to 7,500 MSMEs, ranging from N100,000 to N1,000,000, tailored to the scale of their operations. Meanwhile, 5,091 farmers have been beneficiaries of fertilizer and agricultural implements to enhance productivity.

In a demonstration of commitment to social welfare, N3.3 billion has been allocated for pension, gratuity, and death benefit payments, benefiting 1,338 families of deceased civil servants.

Furthermore, civil servants are accessing financial support through a N500 million revolving loan scheme.

With an impressive cumulative expenditure of N11.4 billion on the second phase of palliatives, Governor Uba Sani assured continued efforts to alleviate the plight of the less fortunate.

Anticipating the commencement of the third phase in the coming months, the Governor emphasized the comprehensive nature of their palliative program, reaffirming the government’s dedication to the welfare of its citizens.
