The member representing Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Yusuf Adamu Gagdi, PhD OON, has added a feather to his nest with his meritorious conferment of Honorary Degree by the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, in Ekiti State on Saturday, 10 February 2024.
Like the popular saying, “a golden fish has no hiding place”, the sterling leadership qualities of the quintessential lawmaker representing the good people of PKK has continued to attract national recognition and plaudits.
Gagdi was among three distinguished Nigerians conferred with the Honoris Causa at the 8th Convocation Ceremony of the institution. The other two awardees are the Majority Leader of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, MOB, CON and the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Distinguished Senator Solomon Adeola, FCA, CON.
Conferring the award on the deserving personalities, the Chancellor of the University, His Royal Majesty, the Attah Igala, (DR) Mathew Alhaji Opaluwa hinted that the awardees were arrived at following meticulous scrutiny of their activities, both in their constitutional mandate of lawmaking and the impacts they have created in the lives of their people through projects delivery and empowerment.
The Chancellor maintained that the choice of the awardees was infallibly arrived at in order to serve as morale booster in the discharge of their duties and to spur others holding positions of responsibility to discharge same with utmost diligence and dedication.
While addressing press, Gagdicould not hide his joy for the recognition accorded him faraway from home. He dedicated the award to the people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency for entrusting him with the mandate upon which he exercises the commendable leadership traits that attracts recognition for his role in nation building. He promised to continue to provide succour to his constituents and speak without fear or favour in the pursuit of an egalitarian society for all Nigerians.
Gagdi appreciates his family for being the backbone of the robust leadership that characterized his representation of the people of Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency.
The convocation was a colourful ceremony that attracted dignitaries from within and outside the country among which are; The Deputy President of the Senate, Dist Sen Barau Jibrin, The Governor of Ekiti State, HE Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, Members of the National Assembly, the Minister for State Environment, Dr Kunle Salako Iziaq among others.
