The Transition Implementation Committee Chairman of Langtang North, Hon Godwin Nanmwa Kumzhi has brokered peace between the youth of Langtang North and Mikang Local Governments following the unfortunate dispute over land that culminated into a clash resulting into loss of lives and property.

“Hon. Godwin Nanmwa Kumzhi, Langtang North TIC Chairman with his colleague the TIC Chairman of Mikang Hon. Daniel Kungmi met Tarok/Tehl communities youths of Funyalang to negotiate peace and resolve land dispute that claimed lives and left many others injured.
“Speaking at the Tarok Camp with the youths, the Council Chairman stated in clear terms that government will not tolerate any act of violence from anyone, adding that he in conjunction with his colleague the TIC Chairman of Mikang has directed security operatives to arrest anyone found with ammunition or distracting the security operatives who are on ground to bring the situation under control.
“Engaging Montol Youths in their own Camp, the Council Chairman noted that there is no alternative to peace, recalled the long cherished peace and mutual respect the Tarok and their Mikang Neighborhood communities enjoyed. ” As far as we know, Tarok and Tehl are one people, and it’ll continue to thrive only on this basis” – he noted. He therefore charged youths to embrace peace – as it is the only way through which progress can be made while he also caution that anyone caught with ammunition shall face the wrath of the Law.
“Further, he observed that government is digging deep into the matter and will not spare anyone who has a hand in the unfortunate incidence that ensued, however highly placed.
“Hon Kumzhi Sympathizes with the families of those who loss their lives to the unfortunate situation. The Chairman has since send report regarding the ugly incident to His Excellency, Barr Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, the Plateau State Governor for further action.
