On Friday, 17th May, 2024, tragedy struck and cut short the dreams of six people at Pil Gani Junction, Kwanpe, Langtang North LGA. In the early hours of the morning that promised the bustle of life, the serene atmosphere at Pil Gani Junction, Kwanpe, in the heart of Langtang North, was shattered by an event that would mark the day in infamy.
According to confirmed reports reaching www.pointblank.com.ng, a coaster bus, became the forerunner of tragedy as it succumbed to mechanical failure and careered out of control. The loss of its brakes, led to an inevitable conclusion: the crushing of six lives under its unbridled weight.
An eye witness who spoke to our correspondent said the six victims comprised of one elderly man, and five youths who were playing local game at the junction when the bus developed mechanical fault and crushed them. While two died instantly on the spot, the remaining were confirmed death few minutes later. All efforts to alert the victims proved abortive as they were absorbed in the local game they were playing
