Plateau State Will Harness FIIRO North Central Zonal Office In Langtang To Catalyze Socio-economic Development, Employment, Skill Acquisition And Research – Gov Mutfwang

The Federal Institute of Industrial Research Oshodi (FIIRO), North Central Zonal Office in Langtang is to be fully utilized by the Plateau State Government as a pivot to catalyse socio-economic development, employment, skill acquisition, and research. In a statement by the Commissioner’s Aide, Kantat Kumven Zion, made available to www.pointblank.com.ng, it reads “In a meaningful development towards fostering industrial and technological advancement in Plateau State, the Honorable Commissioner for Science, Technology, and Innovation, Prof. (Assoc) Obed Goselle, represented His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Governor of Plateau State, at the commissioning ceremony of the Federal Institute of Industrial Research, Oshodi (FIIRO) North Central Zonal Office in Langtang, Langtang North Local Government Area. The momentous event was conducted by the FIIRO Director-General, Dr. Jummai Tutuwa Adamu on behalf of the Honourable Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology- Mr Geoffrey Nnaji.

“The establishment of the FIIRO North Central Zonal Office in Langtang is a gigantic development facilitated by Hon. Beni Butmak Lar, former House of Representative Member, Langtang North and South Federal constituency and is aimed at boosting and promoting industrial research and innovation in the region. This initiative portraits the commitment of both the state and federal governments to driving economic growth through technological advancement and industrial development.

“In his address, Prof. (Assoc) Obed Goselle conveyed the governor’s profound appreciation and unwavering support for FIIRO’s endeavors. He applauded Hon. Beni Lar for her resilience and commitment to ensuring the project sees the light of the day and further emphasized the strategic importance of the new zonal office in enhancing the state’s industrial capabilities and fostering an environment conducive to scientific research and technological innovation.

He said, “The commissioning of this office marks a pivotal moment for Plateau State,”  “It will serve as a hub for industrial research and innovation, providing locals with the necessary supports to improve their processes, productivity, and economic growth. This aligns perfectly with Gov. Caleb Mutfwang’s vision of transforming Plateau State into a leading center of innovation and industrial excellence”.

“The Plateau State government will continue to collaborate with FIIRO and other relevant institutions to achieve these goals.”

“The Director-General of FIIRO, Dr Jummai Tutuwa Adamu in her remark, highlighted the institute’s mission to promote the development and utilization of local raw materials, enhance indigenous technology, and facilitate industrial development across Nigeria. She expressed optimism that the North Central Zonal Office will promote significant advancements and economic development in the region’s industrial sector.

“This event symbolizes a shared vision for a future where science and technology are harnessed to propel the region towards sustainable development and industrial excellence.

Gov Mutfwang’s decision, as articulated by Commissioner Prof. Goselle, to support the establishment of FIIRO’s zonal office is a strategic move, foregrounding the state’s ambition to nurture a culture of innovation and become a hub for scientific research within the North Central Zone and beyond

The epoch occasion was attended by Hon Beni Butmak Lar, the facilitator of the centre, Hon Ubandoma Joshua Laven, Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development and so many critical stakeholders both at the Federal and state levels
